Sim Physics for P3D is a multi-function application which includes numerous features in one great product, including many unique features! It introduces missing functionality to Prepar3D – advancing it to ‘Next Generation’ status, expanding your take-off and landing experience, bringing you enhanced sound and visual effects.
Features include realistic ice accumulation on your aircraft, improved braking behaviour that varies depending on runway conditions, numerous enhanced sounds and a new head movement system. A beautifully designed user interface allows you to customise your experience and provides information on airports, aircraft and weather.
See the Detailed Description section for the full list of features!
FEATURES
-
Implements ice accumulation on your aircraft. Using complex theoretic models, it will add or remove ice from your aircraft in relation to the weather conditions. Ice accumulation can produce drag, extra weight on the aircraft, and even alter the pilot's inputs in the control surfaces to simulate the controls' deficiency.
-
Implements corrected braking behaviour. Your brakes now get hotter if you use them – related to your aircraft mass, the brake's disc surface and speed while braking, this affects their performance – the hotter they get, the poorer the brake performance. Locking up your wheels will now result in less friction as in the real world. Brakes can get cooler if you leave your wheels extended for a while after getting airborne. All combined with enhanced sound effects for normal braking and wheel lock-up, with volume dependent on aircraft speed.
-
Implements corrections to aircraft performance for acceleration on take-off and for deceleration when landing (or aborting a take-off). It now takes into account brake temperature, runway surface type, and runway condition in terms of water, snow or ice contamination. Friction changes as any of the above factors change and this makes every take-off and landing a unique experience! Runway contamination and the changed friction on the runway is now directly related to the precipitation rate.
-
Implementation of anti-skid functionality on all aircraft.
-
Integration of ‘runway bumping effect’, sound and visual effects when passing over the runway centreline lights, affected not only by the nose-wheel but all three set of wheels. This is not just an effect on rolling down the runway with increasing volume as you accelerate; it calculates precisely your position on the runway, giving you a perfectly simulated effect passing over each light on the runway!
-
Integration of 3D Cockpit Effects with expanded characteristics. In 3D cockpit view mode you can now enjoy head movement for spoilers/flaps/gear expansion when airborne, dependant on airspeed and never the same. Head movement occurs for cloud and air turbulence, during the take-off or landing roll, during main gear touchdown, and nose wheel touchdown depending on how soft or hard the landing was. Head movement also occurs when passing over a centreline runway light.
-
Expanded sound effects for braking, locking up of the wheels (brake squeal), flap/spoiler/gear extensions in the air and for passing over every runway light. The effect's volume, pitch and frequency is dependent on the aircraft's speed and when braking by the brake's temperature also, so it is not just a silly sound played when an event is triggered.
