Golden Age Simulations Pitcairn PA-5 Mailwing and Sport Mailwing Collection

The Pitcairn Mailwings were developed by Pitcairn to carry Air Mail for the US Postal Service. Of simple and robust construction, they also had relatively benign flying characteristics.

Pitcairn also built the same aircraft in sport versions for private use. These Sport aircraft had the mail compartment removed, and a side-by-side two-seat cockpit was fitted.

This package contains two versions of the PA-5 - the Mailwing and the Sport Mailwing, both powered by the 220HP Wright J-5 'Whirlwind'. The liveries of the mail carriers represent east coast contract air mail routes 19, 20 and 25. Each livery is distressed in some way to represent working aircraft.

The Sportwing versions are presented in the liveries which at one time or another graced the highly modified PA-5 designed for and flown by Harold Pitcairn.

All of the models are designed to be flown from the virtual cockpit and there is no 2D panel.  Also due to the nature of the texture maps, FSX requires that SP2 be installed.  Acceleration is not required.  No modification to P3D 1.4 or 2.1 is required.

This package includes a bonus scenery add-on of the original Pitcairn Field and factory in Pitcairn Field 1, Bryn Athyn PA. It faithfully depicts the field as it may have been in 1927.
