Golden Age Simulations New Standard Aircraft Collection

New Standard Aircraft Corporation was the product of a partnership between airshow promoter Ivan Gates and noted aircraft designer Charles H. Day and was in existence for a brief four years, producing a total of about 100 aircraft. Sixty-two of these were the memorable D-25 series which was the ultimate barnstormer's plane. and which achieved a reputation far out of proportion to its numbers. The D-25, in addition to hopping untold thousands of passengers, was put to work at a variety of tasks and performed each one well. Several of the single-seat variants left the factory equipped for carrying mail, for agricultural applications and for aerial advertising.  Some of the five-seat versions were field-modified to similar configurations. 

Included in this package is a bonus scenery add-on of the original Poughkeepsie Airport in Red Oaks Mill NY which for a time was operated by aviation legend Johnny Miller and was, after the closure of the New Standard Company, a factory for the restoration and repair of New Standard Model Ds, many of which had been bent out of shape by bootleggers using the D-25 to run liquor from Canada to the US during the depression.
