F28 Featured Flights

Some ideas and inspiration for your F28 flights!
28 March 2025

If you've ever struggled to pick one of the vast number of routes to fly with our F28 Professional for MSFS 2020/2024, the F28 Featured Flights thread on the Just Flight Forum may be just the place for you!

Here you can view a comprehensive range of real-world F28 routes, chosen by our development team to showcase the diverse range of operations the type has flown throughout its service life. This large selection of routes has been gathered from a variety of online sources, as well as from our own personal collections, so maximum accuracy can be assured.

Some of our personal favourite F28 routes are shown below - click on the images for an expanded version!

CALGARY INTL. (CYYC) - NORMAN WELLS (CYVQ)

F28s were still a common sight in Alberta and the Northwest Territories in the early 2000s, which is where this flight takes us. Take a GNS430 or UNS-1 equipped F28 Mk.1000 between Calgary and Norman Wells, with a stop in Yellowknife along the way.

If you’d like something a little extra, why not give the return flight a go too?

COLOMBIAN AIR FORCE THREE-DAY SIX-LEG FLIGHT

Get strapped in for the long haul! This mammoth three-day, six-leg flight is undertaken by the Colombian Air Force’s small fleet of F28s when they return to Europe for heavy maintenance every seven to eight years. The most recent of these flights took place in 2021 and may be the last time one of the original F28 series aircraft operates in Europe.

If you want to double down on the long haul, the return route is posted on our Forum and takes the northern route home via Iceland, Greenland, Canada and the United States.

ABERDEEN INTL. (EGPD) - AMSTERDAM SCHIPOL (EHAM)

Take the F28 back to its birthplace - Amsterdam Schiphol. Starting in Aberdeen, this multi-leg flight will take us south for a brief stopover in the Scottish capital before heading non-stop to Amsterdam. We won’t be taking the most direct route, though, as we will be flying there in true retro fashion, using traditional navigation techniques and the ADF and VHF NAV radios.

KOTOKA INTL. (DGAA) - MURTALA MUHAMMED INTL. (DNMM)

Take the F28 to one of the lesser flown continents in the simulation world, yet one of the most popular continents for real-world F28 operations.

We’re keeping things simple here with a point-to-point flight between two large international airports. You’ll be flying the rarest F28 variant, the Mk.2000, equipped with a GNS430 or UNS-1, so there will be plenty of opportunities to gaze across the impressive MSFS 2020/2024 landscape. You might even spot some wildlife!

AEROPARQUE JORGE NEWBERY (SABE) - SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE (SAZS)

Fly a Líneas Aéreas del Estado (LADE) flight operated by the Argentine Air Force from Buenos Aires to Bariloche.

This state-run airline has been operating the Air Force’s small fleet of F28s on scheduled passenger services since the type's introduction in 1975 and continues to operate them to this day. These aircraft are not only some of the final F28s still in service, but the only remaining examples that can be flown on by the paying public.

Be warned, though - you won’t be spending too much time looking at the stunning landscapes as you’ll be navigating with traditional ADF and VHF NAV radios and Argentina’s vast network of NDBs and VORs. This flight is intended to be flown using the older-liveried Mk.1000 variant, but it would also be accurate to fly this route in the modern-liveried Mk.4000 variant with the GNS430 fitted.
